AMERICAN COINAGE, just the facts

BOOK

SELF-INITIATED

As our world moves forward at an unprecedented pace, history seems to be losing intrigue. Coins used for money have been around for a few millennia, but as technology advances coinage will be some thing of the past. The numismatic world lacks visual appeal sacrificing intrigue. Along with this, there is a definitive factor about why the hobby is whithering. Upon researching the coin collecting market, there seems to be a lack of simple, concise, and direct introductory books and visual appeal in general. I took this as the motivation for creating one. The original approach was to create a clear and concise guide about key date coins, as when I began collecting I had to spend hours scouring the internet. But as I continued researching for key dates, I eventually landed on creating a direct, visually appealing, and informative coin collecting guide. It quickly transitioned into incorporating the basics of collecting, terminology, and adding more historical information about the United States monetary system. Not only are there key dates of each coin, but the historical context of each denomination and their designs.

The information has been carefully selected and organized, and PCGS provided the coin images.
